Pioneering rap act The Treacherous Three was founded in the Bronx, New York in the late ’70s by Kool Moe Dee, Spoonie Gee, Special K, DJ Easy Lee, and L.A. Sunshine. The group was one of the first Hip Hop acts to gain mainstream recognition with such hits as “The Body Rock,” “At the Party,” “Put the Boogie In Your Body,” and more. Now the true, behind the scenes story of one of the group’s members, L.A. Sunshine, is ready to be told.

New York City based author Destin Soul has opened a Kickstarter.com account in order to fund the book, a memoir that collects Sunshine’s upbringing, his rise and fall in the rap game, and his struggle to get where he is today. For those unfamiliar, Kickstarter is a fundraising website that allows artists to accept donations from generous fans in order to be able to complete their projects.

The book features an introduction written by Public Enemy’s Chuck D and an outro by RUN-D.M.C.’s Darryl McDaniels. Also contributing to the book are Chris Rock, Biz Markie, Doug E. Fresh, Rakim, Prince Paul, and many more. Supporters can choose a specific amount they’d like to contribute and each monetary level comes with specific perks. The author needs to raise $11,000 dollars in order to complete L.A. Sunshine’s biography.
