As previously reported, Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV was pushed back to a June release date.

Mack Maine has revealed that the album will now hit stores on June 21, and that the reason behind the delay is Wayne’s need to place finishing touches on the LP.

“He’s still perfecting a few things, he’s a perfectionist … changing a few lines,” said Mack Maine to MTV News. “We also have a huge record that wasn’t done yet. We’re in L.A. right now. We have a little studio time and it should be done probably by Monday.”

Maine also pointed to waiting on collaborators as a reason for delay. “If you calculate all of that, by the time we would’ve finished mixing, we wouldn’t have met the [original] due date to turn in the album,” he added. “So we had to push it back.”
