CyHi Da Prynce has seen his profile rise substantially in the last year with guest spots on his mentor Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, solo mixtapes, work with rising stars Yelawolf and Pill, and national television appearances. Now the Decatur, GA rapper reveals some details about what his next move will be.
Speaking with Billboard, CyHi mentions two mixtapes that he plans on releasing this summer. The tapes are entitled Allies and Royal Flush 2, respectively. The G.O.O.D. Music artist had this to say to Billboard about those upcoming tapes, “Royal Flush 2 is going to be topic-wise similar to the first Royal Flush mixtape, but more aggressive, more 808s and more show-driven music. It’s the same story, but the music will be different….Allies is just a collaborative set of hip-hop and rap with some of today’s favorite artists.” Those artists include Big K.R.I.T., J Cole, and Big Sean. There will also be contributions from some big names on the other side of the glass with new tracks being provided by West, No I.D., and French duo J.U.S.T.I.C.E.
The tapes are nearly completed and they are intended to be followed up by CyHi’s first official solo album. The young emcee attempted to sum up his process for Billboard in a parting comment: “I’m creative. I have a big vocabulary now, because I do a lot of reading. I try to make smart things sound simple, like Rosetta Stone for rap. My music is easy to digest but it’s still witty and clever. That’s what makes me a special individual.”
