This past weekend, Queens, New York duo Mobb Deep leaked “Dog Sh*t” , one of the first songs created since Prodigy’s release from prison last month. The song, produced by longtime Mobb Deep affiliate Alchemist, along with Havoc, features another Queens icon, Nas.
“Dog Sh*t” is the first time the trio has worked together since 1999’s “It’s Mine,” a Scarface-inspired single from Mobb Deep’s platinum album, Murda Muzik. In the years since the collaboration, the parties had beef at points, notably in Nas’ “Destroy & Rebuild” on 2001’s Stillmatic and through interviews in the years that followed. When Mobb Deep signed with 50 Cent’s G-Unit Records in the mid-’00s, the group expressed publicly that Nas had intentionally made a similar move to align with then-Jay-Z’s Def Jam roster.
Prodigy, Havoc and Nas have not made statements about the reunion yet. HipHopDX will keep you updated.
If G-unit is out of the pic, I do like this.
Now the can see that Nas got the power to help em out. Havoc did never felt off, he`s to real. P did go the wrong way, but maybe he`s back now, who knows???.
