Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group “Self Made” Now Set For May 23rd Release

On May 24, Rick Ross‘ Maybach Music Group will release Self Made Volume 1, the label’s first compilation. Now distributed by Warner Music, Maybach Music has expanded its roster this year to include Philadelphia, Pennsylvania emcee Meek Mill, Atlanta Georgia’s Pill and Washington DC rapper Wale. While Maybach also includes Triple C’s and R&B singer Teedra Moses, the aforementioned trio is who is believed to be joining Ross on the album art, pictured to the right.

Ross’ first group, Triple C’s (f/k/a Carol City Cartel) released the label’s first non-Rick Ross project in 2009’s Custom Cars & Cycles through Def Jam Records. There is no word at present if the group of Torch, Gunplay and Young Breed is featured on Self Made.

    1. i wouldnt call that art, its just a picture

      check out those chopper suits!!!!

lookin like a bunch of used car salesmen!!!! stuntin!

      1. i couldnt tell you who 2 of those dudes are but homie between ross and wale is rocking a chopper suit 4 realz

    2. this shit wack!!! its going sell 1k copies 1st weekk like 1% of the carol city cops did…lmmmfao!!!

    3. Triple C’s wasn’t asked to be on the cover because they’re currently applying for welfare. That said, this should flop. 250,000 total sales. And that’s if their first single is fire.

    4. go to school is what ya tell us, but niggas in school is scared of the good_fellas" - ice cube says:

so i guess ross couldn’t convince the label to put out another triple c’s record

    5. Should be legendary… Triple C’s made history with 14,000 copies in the first week worldwide.. This album has potential to push equal numbers as triple c’s, maybe even more..

      1. ….Is You Serious!!!….23,000 copies sold in first week. After 6 Months 62,000 sold!!!….Believe That!!!…..Peace!!!

    6. Everybody pay attention to industry 101 and how it moves.

This is his new label’s attempt at a Young Money situation.

Just like Lil’ Wayne had his REAL ARTISTS Squad Up and tried to build a label and failed miserably. The label then said, here take Drake, Nicky Minaj, Jae Millz etc. – artists who were going to come out anyway on Universal whether Lil’ Wayne was locked up, dead, broke or whatever. Makes it seem like they actually have a “team” like Death Row, Bad Boy, Roc etc. used to be. Everybody wins.

The nigga don’t have a label. He gets to shake his head up and down and they pat him on his head, tell him good job and give him money.

Now, Warner Bros. is trying to do the same thing. It’s how they do business. And when he asks can he bring Triple C’s along they laugh at his ass and say “fat boy, just sit back and let us do the work ok.” They “give” him a label, filled with artists who they were going to put out anyway and they hope that his current “hot” state in the game will rub off and create energy and sales for them.

This nigga don’t have a label. He gets to yell Maybach Music while all of them are on Warner Bros. It’s not a knock on him. Roc Nation is not a label. Bad Boy used to be but is not.

These niggas don’t have nothin but the logos that say they label.

Master P had the last real record label operating on that level.

      1. so how do you explain Meek being unsigned before Maybach signed with warner? and wale was signed to allido/interscope

      2. i understand what you’re trying to say, but Maybach Music isn’t a label “given” to Rick Ross, he put it together and was offered a deal with Warner. I can’t speculate on the YM situation, it seems too large, but i suspect Wayne still has a say in signings, if not anything else.

As for Roc Nation, there’s a lot of hard work going on there and it’s by no means a figurehead imprint, considering they’re not actually part of another larger record label…
I think that’s about it, cos i never did care for Bad Boy.

        peace

    7. I CANT WAIT FOR THIS ALBUM FO REAL IM FEELIN ALL THESE CATS I HAVE A FEELIN MAYBACH MUSIC IS GOIN TO BE THE NEXT MOVMENT

    8. pill, wale, and meek mill can all rip a verse. rick ross blows hard dick, but teflon don deffinetly did have some nice ass beats. this could be ok, depending on if they decide to keep as little as rick ross as possible

    9. Ol Chopper suit wearing ass niggas lol What happenned to Triple Cheese haha I swear this Burger King Music is wack how many losses is it going to take for everybody to see Ross socks along with these idiots

    10. Niggas better recognize this will be the best hip hop collabo album since d-block.

      Bawse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    11. the only reason i MIGHT get this, but probly wont, is to hear that mothafucka pill. i’ma project this shit to sell around 100,000, give or take, i’m hoping take. there are tons of dumb shits that’ll buy an album supported by an ex screw.

    12. Pill needs to go as hard as he did in his first two tapes, Wale needs to bring his fresh clever flow, not his dumbass weed flow and they need to stay away from Lex Luger beats. If all this happens then I might give it a listen, second cover is much better by the way.

      1. Yea I’m not a big fan of Ross’ background… but damn it.. you can’t deny the fucking music.. lol. And this is a New Yorker talking (meaning “dumb ass” dudes think we hate everything southern)

      1. HOLD..UP!!! HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU EVEN RECOGNISE AND STILL REMEMBER THOSE GUYS NAMES…THAT RIDICULOUS…I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT SKIN COMPLEXION THOSE DUDES ARE AND YOU BLATANTLY COME OUT WITH THEIR NAMES SO EFFORTLESSLY

    13. Self made Correction officer!!!!

Stop acting if you are some maffia don because you are fake as hell

      1. But it’s fine when Biggie does it right? People have been using monikers and acts forever, who gives a flying fuck so long as the music is good?

      2. Biggie wasn’t a CO, but he was Frank White either. Nas wasn’t an Escobar, and none of the Wu were Gambino. Also, I don’t think Al Pacino ever ran a drug cartel in Miami during the 80’s where he evetuantally had a massive gun fight and died. Art is about interpretation. If half these rap cats was actually doing half the things that rap about they would be sitting side by side with Gucci Mane and Lil Boosie. Just because you talk about the streets and create a persona of someone from the streets doesn’t mean you are that person from the streets. Pull your head out of the sand and turn off whatever record you are listening to because your favorite emcee is probably just as felonious as Rick Ross.

      3. Furthermore, the man who “outed” Rick Ross as a former CO got famous because of a track called “How To Rob”, and let’s be real, yeah it was kind of a joke and it was 50 being 50, but that cat never did anything like what he said in that song.

      4. so wrong so wrong, How to Rob came out in 1999, it was his first single. Second In Da Club came out in 2003, which was a year after wanksta came out. And the smoking gun just confirmed the rumor that 50 already had known about. Get your facts straight.

      5. yes how to rob came out in like 1999 but no one, including you knew who he was until 2003, the nigga wasnt famous in 1999

50 didnt out rick ross before smoking gun, people from miami did, now take rick ross dick out of your gay ass brian andrew smith

      6. Thats right i had no idea who he was when he was putting out those mixtapes tapes before Get rich came out. I forgot. Next time I want to remember something about hip hop I will ask you “Anonymous”. If you’re gonna write on a page at least have the balls to identify yourself. And Miami may have started the rumors but 50 ran with it and made it huge and smoking gun confirmed it.

Furthermore, just because i am defending the dude doesn’t mean i am a stan of his. Personally i like his stuff but he is definately not one of my favorites. OR wait is he. You tell me because you seem to know what I like and when i started listening to it.

      7. Man I can’t wait for hip hop to get some balance.

One day, it’ll be commonplace to be a representation of the common man/woman and not the characters that plague our society.

“All praise due to the drug dealer!” Give me a break.

      8. Again lame ass niggas rollin up on here bringin up the CO shit while sittin behind they computer unemployed. At least the nigga Rozay was workin unlike yaall niggas who bashin him while sittin at home, jacking off to porn and cashing your welfare checks. Niggas are lame, if a nigga work a legit job they a sellout, if they get busted they stupid, make up ya mind you stupid ass niggas. Maybe ya’all niggas bashin Ross for workin a real job should get of yo ass and go apply at McDonalds, I hear they hiring. Shit gon rock, cuz Ross always go hard wit them beats.

        Bawse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      9. Faget ass white boys act like they fuckin know

        50 been arrested with crack
Nas was bopped for a gun
Big was bopped with a tec-9
2Pac rapped a Bitch (HAHA Not Really)
Every member in the Wu has Felonies
RZA killed a guy (Self Defense)
        Lil Boosie kills everyone

Rick Ross had the soup in the shower

      10. just because they got that on their records doesn’t make them a criminal mastermind. That was my point. As I said, “If half these rap cats was actually doing half the things that rap about”, i did not say that haven’t done any of the things that they have rapped about. The things you mentioned are things that are known. Everyone knows that shit. learn to read exactly what someone says. Also learn to spell. It makes your argument look worse.

      11. @blind

at least Biggie did sell crack!!! And okay he wasn’t a pablo escobar but he had street credibility

      12. Big NEVER sold crack! He went to a private school and was just like any other kid, EVERYONE who knew him back them has vouched that. Brian is right though, all artists create some sort of persona to boost their popularity, just because they got caught with a water gun in they trunk doesn’t make them fuggin’ Scarface! Like I said, if the music is good then who honestly gives a shit? If you’re looking for credibility and believable music then Gangsta rap ain’t the place for you.

      13. @BLIND, YOUR BLIND. DON’T EVER SPEAK ON HIP HOP, SPEAK ON RAP. ANYBODY WHO KNOWS REAL HIP HOP KNOWS YOUR A FOOL BY YOUR STATEMENT
U DON’T GET IT. JUST STAY IN YOUR LANE AND CONTINUE TO ENJOY THIS FRAUDS MUSIC.

    14. dumb niggas still talking bs about the C.O. thing! hahaha Dude is one of the only MC’s dropping consistant music PERIOD!!! lossen your bra straps IDIOTS!

      1. people are still talking about the “C.O thing” because officer William Roberts makes himself out to be someone he isn’t, which hasn’t been an acceptable thing to do in Hip-hop since its creation (Vanilla ice for example), I suppose I am a bit of a hypocrite though cus I have some of his music on my ipod, im not gonna lie I like some of it. on the other hand the production of a good amount of his songs sounds too similar (and I think even someone who is a big Rick Ross fan like yourself “Rick” should be able to admit that)

    15. Im so dissapointed, CO ricky signed Stalley. #EPIC#FAIL!!!! Well at least I got lincoln way nights and they cant changet that. Why Stalley, Why…..?

    16. éééééééééhahah real music People leave Rozay alone he is doing his thing fuck Curly Jackson

    17. FAKE WANNABE RAPPERS TRYING TO BE GANGSTERS . OFFICER RICKY YOUR WACK AS HELL
STOP RAPPING YOU FAKE . CANT RAP YOUR WACK

    18. OMG again an album about maybachs, coke and guns.

Please Ross stop acting you ain’t a maffia don. You are so fake officer Ricky. Took the name from the real rick ross and started rapping

and whats up with that stupid 2pac title. First you get a biggie tattoo and now a 2pac song????

If pac and Big would have lived they would never have liked you and you probably never had a record deal and was still working as a corectional officer.

      1. Enough of the bs about 2pac and Biggie not being cool with Rick Ross. I bet those guys would be praising Justin Bieber if they were alive. This ain’t the 90s anymore.

    19. LMAO @ Carol city cops

look…all yall niggaz hatin on ross for once bein a c.o. needa get the stick out ya ass and shut the fuck up, once an for all..the nigga was 19 yrs old when he did that, what the fuck is wrong wit gettin a job??? Most these 19 yr old niggaz can’t read a job application…and lemme ask u this is it impossible for the nigga to have sold cocaine?? Are yall fuckin stupid or what, bankers in miami have sold caine, politicians, not no conspiracy shit niggaz in that bitch selling caine for real. A kid signin up for a job like that and then finding his plug in prison and goin on to flip keys sound like a real ass gangsta story to me, IMO… gangsta = street business man. Can the next nigga runnin his fuck ass mouth bout ross bein a C.O. give 100% testimony the nigga never broke down keys??? If not, STFU…and the nigga music shit on that new NY Shit, pure doo-doo, why yall hatin *THUMBSDOWN*

      1. I hear you. I been in the game. I dealt with prison guards.

The grew up with him. I left the room when deals were done.

Knew his family. Was friends with his brother.

        But in the game.

You never trust a dude that’s a CO or a cop.

        Do you know why.

Because if it goes down and they get caught.

        They are telling.

If you smoked a blunt with Rick Ross you might be in trouble.

If he ever gets pinched he’s telling because he knows the system treats the first snitch the best.

    21. fuk this nigga, hip hop is the new wwf, what do you rap or do you wrestle niggas love to forget

    22. nas had a gangster alias and raps about shit he’s never done all the time…so did big so does eminem and so do a bunch of other rappers. how come its only a big issue to complain about when ross does it? that just makes it seem like youre hating.

      1. Yeah, but that doesn’t immediately means Biggie was a drug dealer and Em was a psychopathic killer.

IT’S ALL ENTERTAINMENT PEOPLE, DON’T HATE, JUST LISTEN!!!

      2. people complained about it back then too.

Its just that hip hop wasn’t as big and neither was the internet.

    23. If this was a super group album, aligned with rappers like Game, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Nas, etc. it would at least on paper sound alot more interesting, but Wale? Torch? Meek? Pill? Even the names sound homo.

    24. You can download almost all these tracks for free on datpiff.com. This shit is crazy old.
