Yelawolf And Slaughterhouse Both In Studio For Shady Records Debuts

Shady Records latest signee’s, Alabama rapper Yelawolf and Hip Hop mega-group Slaughterhouse, are all hard at work completing their debut albums on the label. Yelawolf revealed that his album Trunk Muzik 0-60 is pretty much complete aside from a few touches here and there while Slaughterhouse are a few songs in with their album.

Yelawolf explained to Billboard.com that while he’s almost finished with his album he expects Shady Records leading man Eminem to help with production on the album and a few touch ups.

“I was sitting with him [Eminem] and was like, ‘Hey man, I did an album.’ ‘You did an album? I want to hear it.’ The next day we got up in the studio and he was hyped, man,” Yelawolf explained. “But of course we’re going to get back in the studio and he’s gonna produce some stuff, touch some stuff up.”

According to Yelawolf fans can expect a “more organic” sound with Trunk Muzik 0-60.

“It’s still raw in a way and still keeping the core there, but it’s less regional and more worldwide sounding. It just feels bigger,” said Yelawolf, speaking on the album.

And at the other end of Shady Records while Slaughterhouse consists of four members each from different parts of the country Slaughterhouse’s Royce Da 5’9″ revealed that recording isn’t as hard a process as it may seem.

“Eventually we’ll get together in a central location and just vibe together with [Eminem] in the studio,” Royce explained. “It’s not as hard as you think it would be; everybody is pretty busy but the guys in the group are real good about putting stuff to the side and making the group first. We all can agree this is the most important thing in our careers.”

As far as the progress of Slaughterhouse’s album Royce merely stated that the album is “coming along.”

    1. I’m confused by this. It seems to state in the 1st paragraph that Trunk Muzik 0-60 is going to be Yela’s 1st album on Shady. That’s not true, as TM 0-60 is already out. Has been for a bit now.

Pretty sure it should state Yelawolf revealed that the follow-up to his album Trunk Muzik…

Or am I wrong? Perhaps he’s going to reissue TM 0-60 under Shady?

Regardless, though, I’m excited to hear what he & Slaughter put out

      1. Oh alright. Thanks for clearing that up. Excited to see/meet Yela at Warped Tour this summer. Pretty much going just to see him since I don’t know any of the other acts there

    2. you know its the wrong title you can click trunk muzik 0-60 and it takes you to a review of it done over 6 months ago

    4. Looking forward to Slaughterhouse their debut on Shady, fo’ real!
And I know I said some foul stuff about Yelawolf in the past, but he surprised me on Let’s Go (Travis Barker ft. Busta Rhymes, Twista, Yelawolf & Lil Jon). It’s a track off Travis his solo-debutalbum, Give The Drummer Some. Pop The Trunk is dope too!
      Peace.

    5. I was confused until I read the comments. Pretty sad everytime I come to this website I have to look at the comments to clear up the information i’m reading because the editor didnt proof read haha.

    6. You dumbasses Trunk Muzik was a mixtape even long before Trunk Muzik 0-60….Dumbasses

    8. Damn. I can’t wait for the Slaughterhouse Shady debut. Four of my favorite rappers of all time formed a group which ACTUALLY drops albums. Lookin’ at hrsmn etc.

    9. Yela said he pretty much recorded whole album then brought it to EM, just hope Em gets involved far as producing and just helping bring best of yelawolf out.
REALLY hope slaughterhouse Shady debute album will be dam near classic or better…lol. Just hope Em gives them better beats and a sound like he did for Obie Trice’s 2nd album which was very underrated.

    11. When I met YelaWolf at Rock the Bells he said his album was coming in september. Wish he had told me it was just a compilation of mixtape/ a couple new tracks and not his debut. From what i’ve read it seems Radioactive is done but now looks like it’s gonna get that em collab (just him and em spitting)Hope it’s good because i’ve been waiting for his proper debut.

    12. Don’t be like the other artist and be waiting on Dre to give ya beats or u’ll be waiting a long as while or he’ll just give ya a throw away.
