Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All has watched their press and popularity rise since beginning to independently release their material in 2009. Things increased earlier this year when Tyler, The Creator and Hodgy Beats performed with The Roots on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” After the increased popularity, Tyler signed a deal with XL Recordings and MellowHype (Hodgy, and producer Left Brain) will re-release Blackandwhite with independent distribution through the label Fat Possum. According to Spin magazine and a recent Billboard magazine interview with Andrew Noz, Odd Future has a television show in the works.
“In the pre-buzz days, the Odd Future crew would post homemade comedy skits on their Tumblr and mention dreams of one day turning them into a show for Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim programming,” writes Noz. “Now they’re producing a pilot for the network, which management describes as a mixture of ‘Jackass’ and ‘Chappelle’s Show.’”
With the exception of Tyler’s forthcoming Goblin, most of the group’s material is still available for free download on OddFuture.com. The full Odd Future profile, including commentary from some of the executives who have signed deals with various Odd Future members is available at Billboard.com
