DeShaun “Proof” Holton’s legacy will not only live on through music, but through achieving Detroit students. Proof’s foundation will be offering scholarships to high school seniors in the Motor City. The Proof Foundation was founded in 2007 by Proof’s mother Sharallene “Pepper” Holton-White.
The goal of the scholarship is to promote education to low income children from single parent households and encourage higher learning. Eligible students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be planning to attend either a two year or a four year college or university program. They must also write an essay on how they would try and stop the violence if they were the Mayor of Detroit.
This years winner will be announced on April 11th following a candlelight vigil for Proof. For more information, visit The Proof Foundation website.
