DXnext emcee Wiz Khalifa has transformed the Stargate-produced “Black & Yellow” from a song written largely about his yellow Dodge Challenger R/T into a Pittsburgh Steelers anthem, played at games, tailgate parties and across the globe. Now, Cash Money Records superstar Lil Wayne has made a rally song for Wisconsin’s Green Bay Packers, in preparation for this Sunday’s Super Bowl XLV contest.
This morning, Wayne’s “Green & Yellow” was released over the same instrumental. In the song, the New Orleans native takes shots at Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and Pro Bowl safety Troy Polamalu, as well as the team’s iconic “Terrible Towel” fan flags.
While Pittsburgh Steelers fans (known as “Steelers Nation”) also includes Snoop Dogg, another high-profile emcee, Game, professed his allegiance to the Green Bay Packers. Game told HipHopDX last week, “All I got is ‘Green & Yellow, Green & Yellow,” noting that he favors the team with the G on their helmets.
