Earlier this week the entire film world was on the edge of their seats as the full list of Oscar nominees was announced on Tuesday, January 25. Among the many films nominated was Exit Through The Gift Shop a mockumentary directed by popular British graffiti artist Banksy.

The film was nominated for Best Documentary Feature and will go up against Gasland, Inside Job, Restrepo, and Waste Land at the Oscar’s.

Released in the U.S. in April 2010, Exit Through The Gift Shop profiles a French immigrant who travels to Los Angeles and becomes enveloped in the street art culture and meeting Banksy.

In conjunction with the UK release of Exit Through The Gift Shop, Banksy also created a pop-up exhibition in London titled Exit Through The Gift Shop. The film was also shown at last year’s Sundance Film Festival in Utah.

The 83rd Annual Academy Awards show will air on February 27.
