An artist signed to E1 Entertainment has been arrested on felony drug possession charges. According to AllHipHop.com, Natchitoches, Louisiana’s Big Unk (a/k/a Mr. Real Estate) was reportedly apprehended on January 15 after Beaux Bridge Police were called to investigate the rapper after there were reports of drug dealing.
Upon entering the rapper’s home, police discovered 150 pounds of marijuana, which led him to charges of intent to distribute.
In 2008, Big Unk released Tolerated But Hated on his own Unk – SoSouth imprint. The album featured Lil Boosie, Paul Wall and Lil Keke.
UPDATE: Big Unk, presently freed on bond, is publicly maintaining his innocence. A press release on behalf of the E1 said Unk maintains he was arrested for “driving while black.” Peter John, Big Unk’s attorney, in a statement said “I expect an uphill battle. My client has the right to a trial by jury which he has chosen to exercise.”
