Ever since it was announced, fans have clamored over Watch the Throne, the joint project between Jay-Z and Kanye West. However, this joint album may have put another one on the shelf. It seems one of the albums that has been put on the back burner is the Child Rebel Soldiers disc, one meant to be crafted by Kanye, Pharrell Williams and Lupe Fiasco. CRS, as they have been called, is now an album that fans will have to continue to anticipate patiently.

During a visit to Hartford 93.7’s The Morning Crew, Lupe Fiasco spoke on what Watch the Throne has meant to CRS.

“I think the Jay-Z/Kanye collabo [Watch the Throne] kinda was like, ‘Aww man, aww no,’ ” he noted. “Whenever we get to go in [the studio] and have the time and the opportunity to do it, we’re always working on some other project. Pharrell gon’ do a soundtrack for a movie, Kanye does another project.”

In the meantime, Fiasco has his own work to worry about. He’s currently prepping Lasers, an album slated to drop in early March as March 8 has been touted as its release date.

Supporters of the Jay-Z/West project can now hear their first single, “H.A.M.”
