Raphael Saadiq is preparing to release his fifth album, Stone Rollin’, on March 22. The album, the follow-up to 2008’s Grammy nominated The Way I See It, will find the singer/songwriter/producer delivering ten new songs deeply entrenched in the Soul and R&B music of the 60’s and 70’s.  According to Saadiq, “Both the attraction and reaction to my music from my listeners has giving me all that I need to continue pushing the envelope and making music that wakes and rocks the soul of many.”

The Soul-man recorded the new disc in LA and played most of the instruments himself. But a few guests did lend their talents to the project including steel guitar master Robert Randolph, Earth Wind and Fire’s Larry Dunn, and Swedish-Japanese indie-rock musician Yukimi Nagano.

Saadiq’s planning on taking the new material on the road very soon, though no dates have been announced at present. The first single from Stone Rollin’, “Radio”, will be available from iTunes this Tuesday, January 11th.
