The Discovery television network announced on Friday (December 31) that it had “postponed indefinitely” plans to broadcast a reenactment of Michael Jackson’s 2009 autopsy.
Inundated by complaints from family, friends and fans of the singer, Discovery thought better of its decision to broadcast “Michael Jackson’s Autopsy: What Really Killed Michael Jackson.”
Discovery Networks International said the decision was made in light of “the request of Michael Jackson’s estate” and “the commencement of legal proceedings beginning next week,” according to a statement it released.
The program was originally set to be shown in several countries in Europe on January 13.
