Legendary producer Large Professor took some time out from working with old friend Neek the Exotic to talk with ForbezDVD. Of course, one of the topics to come up was LP’s association with Nas. Many fans look forward, patiently and less so, to the release of more music from the emcee/production team that first made its mark on tracks from the Queensbridge emcee classic first record, Illmatic. Well the wait may not continue much longer, according to the producer. “That’s already there. We got mad joints in the can,” Large Professor revealed, “It’s a matter of just when we’re going to release them, when we want to drop jewels on them.”

Large Pro and Neek, who first teamed up on “Fakin’ the Funk” two decades ago, are also planning new material. When asked why they reconnected, the Queens born producer was quick to point out that they never lost touch, “We ain’t never disconnect. It’s just all this industry baggage shit…that sucker shit.”

Most recently Large Professor produced a track on Joell Ortiz’s forthcoming album, Free Agent, set for release on February 11, 2011.
