Royce Da 5’9″ Plans Next Album, “Success Is Certain” For July 26

Detroit, Michigan emcee Royce Da 5’9″ released an acclaimed 2004 album, Death Is Certain. Led by the DJ Premier-produced single, “Hip Hop,” the sophomore album – and first with Koch Records (now known as E1 Entertainment) was a critical success to the Bad Meets Evil alum.

Seven years later, Royce Da 5’9″ – now reunited with Eminem, announced that his next solo album will be called Success Is Certain. Having released two studio albums since Death Is Certain, the next effort will celebrate Royce’s persistent ascent from the underground to the mainstream. There is no word yet which label will release the album, although the Slaughterhouse member confirmed the title today.

Last year, Royce released Street Hop, which was executive produced by DJ Premier.

    1. that’s kind of a corny title tbh… but this album better be fucking magnificent if he’s gonna try to follow up Death is Certain.

    2. Growing Up Royce! From A D.I.C (Death Is Certain) 2 Being S.I.C. like we all knew you were! Success Is Certain!

BBEZLEBUD on Twitter Hollah at ya boy

    4. i say at least 2 of these artists will be on this album: raekwon, eminem, drake or Joe budden and Boi-1da will produce at least one track

      1. Boi-1da isn’t someone I see him picking, nor drake. Hell I kind of don’t even see raekwon on a track.

      2. Drake!?
        Drake??
Nahh definitely not Drake. Hell if you’d even listened to any of his albums (especially BE3) you’d know he despises Drake. In a funny way nonetheless. I can’t wait for Royce’s next, his rap style + humour are second to none. I hate your pants.

“The next MC to rhyme ‘official’ with ‘ ref with a whistle’ that AIN’T young money; Ima definitely dis you…”

      3. Then you really don’t know Royce or anyone around him. Lol must not know shit because he talk so much shit about Drake.

    5. first the album doesn’t exist the article writers a fool

second there’s no fuckin way Royce would have Raekwon on his album after Rae smacking his boy Joey around n recordin it last year

      Beezlebud on Twitter

      1. Yeah I have all of Royce’s albums and Death Is Certain is def one of em. Prolly the best one he has alongside Independence Day.

      2. he was talkin about “sucess is certain” doesnt exist NOT “death is certain” retards…LEARN TO READ

      1. my hip hop dream is to see eminem, royce 59,joe budden, immortal technique, jadakiss, and jin all on a song…thatd murder anything that ym could EVER produce

    6. i dont know if i like it being a sequel he should just drop a new one and not be like everyother rapper out there droping sequels

      1. agreed. that is where royce earned his stripes for me to become a fan. and that album is (along w/ the bar exam mixtape) is why i hold royce in such a high regard as a dope emcee. his other shit (not independent’s day) was cool, but not as consistently ill as death is certain. he doesnt slack off for a second like he will on some verses on every other album. best royce da 5’9″ lp he put out.

      2. Death Is Certain is crazy!!! mad dark and he addressed all the BS he went thru, mad deep shit. hopefully he dont rush Success is certain. fresh tho

    7. if Em could get him a contract with Interscope…this dude is willing to elbow his way to succes…watch out YM and South …

    8. Yeah my first Royce cd was independent day and it was very medcore, street hop was redemption, near perfect. Can’t wait to hear who’s this next one.

      1. Independents Day is my favorite rap album, ever…and I fuckin mean that…I just listened to the whole thing again 2 days ago…they shoud do a re release of that shit on shady

      1. Kid Vishis is gonna be in there,Em no doubt,Slaughterhouse, some D12 members,Elzi,Yelawolf, hope he gets K Young to do a hook, hope he brings 50cent 2(that collab never been done)

    9. ill buy it off Amazon. 9.99 and the actual disc not a download you can put on a disc ten times. i buy all my cds off amazon tho. they usually do this sale where you can buy em cheaper. and they ship release day morning. i got Lasers and stuff from it. haa i also got Stankonia for 3 bucks used. not a bad place to get Music. ima get finally famous too. sorry im rambling, pay me now Amazon

    10. royce…please find something to write about for this album, don’t just make an entire album about how good you think you are at rapping and how big you think your dick is, please try and write songs that are actually about something, something original and interesting

      1. I dunno if that’s a serious question, but if it is he uses the “5’9” part cause that’s his height.

    11. DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!! 5K FIRST WEEK!!!!! SLAUGHTERHOUSE AKA WAFFLEHOUSE!!! FLOPPN YEAR ROUND BABY!!

    12. Oh my god! Another postponement? Well if it’s as dope as Street Hop, which I’m sure it will be, then it’s worth the wait. Just wish he didn’t have to postpone his shit again.
