Animated band The Gorillaz has brought a lot of success to the Hip Hop community. Hit singles with Del The Funky Homosapien, Booty Brown, The Pharcyde and Mos Def has carried the EMI/Virgin Records veterans through the last decade with a genre-bending sound, and acclaimed ensemble tours.

In a recent interview with ContactMusic.com, band co-founder Jamie Hewlett revealed that the band is considering hanging it up after three studio albums. “‘This would be a wonderful point to leave Gorillaz; at the end of this tour, I think. This tour, with these people, is a one-off. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We’ll never repeat this,” said Hewlett. He said that the band would re-evaluate things after their present world tour ends in January.

Earlier this year, The Gorillaz released Plastic Beach, which featured Mos Def, Snoop Dogg and De La Soul.
