Hip Hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs and his Ciroc Vodka brand are celebrating the holidays this year by trying to keep people safe on the road. The company recently announced that they are bringing back their safe rides program in order to prevent cases of drunk driving this holiday season.
Working in conjunction with E! Entertainment Television and first-time partners the New York City Department of Transportation (NYC DOT), thousands of pre-paid debit cards of $25 will be distributed to adult consumers at major traffic stops in throughout the five boroughs of New York. The cards will work with participating taxi cabs companies and city subway trains until January 1, 2011.
Diddy also released a statement about the campaign, urging drivers to keep New York’s streets safe from intoxicated drivers this holiday season.
“As the ‘Official Vodka of New Year’s Eve,’ Ciroc has made a huge impact over the last two years by helping New York get home safely, so I’m proud to announce that we’re bringing the program back in an even bigger way,” said Diddy. “New York is the world’s most iconic holiday destination, so I’m excited to lead by example to demonstrate that a smooth, sophisticated holiday season doesn’t end when the ball drops, but when everyone gets home safely.” (RapIndustry.com)
