With five Grammy nominations and his upcoming No Genre mixtape set to drop December 7, B.o.B currently has something for both his mainstream and underground fans. The 22-year-old has been nominated for Grammy’s for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration, Best Rap Song, and Record of the Year for “Nothin’ On You.” 
Additionally, Bobby Ray is also in the running for Best Rap Album and Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals. When asked if he had any thoughts about not winning Best New Artists—Drake was the lone Hip Hop nominee—B.o.B offered a somewhat unexpected take.
“I really don’t have a sense of entitlement,” he told Christopher John Farley of the Wall Street Journal. “Having a sense of entitlement steers you in a certain path to get saturated by ego and greed.”
The award nominations reflect an album that features Hip Hop fused with artists such as Hayley Williams and Rivers Cuomo, and B.o.B says—as the title suggests—the mixtape will reinforce that.
“The mixtape is more about making the statement ‘no genre’ and releasing all the things I want to say,” he added. “It’s sort of the culmination of all my thoughts and ideas throughout the whole entire year.”
No Genre will feature some of B.o.B’s own production. And if his success continues in the form of a few wins when the Grammy’s air February 13, fans can expect the fusion to continue. After seeing their “Airplanes” collaboration spend 36 weeks on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart while peaking at the number two spot, B.o.B says he and Hayley Williams of Paramore mutually came to the decision to record another song.
