Happy Thanksgiving from the HipHopDX staff to those of you who celebrate. Most of us are off carving turkeys, slicing jellied Ocean Spray cranberry sauce, cracking bottles and watching the Detroit Lions lose another one with our families and model significant others. If you’re crawling away from your family and want some quality online content, Loose Links sure are in order.

Keith Murray Portraits

One of this staff’s favorite records is “Get Lifted,” and it’s been that way for nearly 16 years. Keith Murray is one of our favorite emcees, and we always want him to win, and make another classic like The Most Beautifullest Thing In This World. Because of Keith, we use words like “beautifullest” during pillow talk. Anyway… Keith’s road manager is a longtime homie of the site, and passed these snaps from Murray’s recent tour. The L.I. emcee looks young, re-energized and all that. We last caught Def Squad briefly at ’08 Rock The Bells at Jones Beach, but hope to see Keith rock a mic soon.

50 Dipset Gems

Like Keef, we also are fans of the Diplomats. From Children of the Corn tapes to Vado’s Slime Flu, the whole Harlem click gets our respect. The Complex clan broke down their 50 greatest Dipset songs. The list is great for visiting chipmunk soul samples (what up Heatmakerz), lots of pause/no homo calls, and just that Uptown flyness. While we think Cam’ron has three excellent albums and a host of joints, some of the DX staff’s personal favorites include “Don’t Fool With The Dips” by DJ A-Trak, .40 Cal and JR Writer, as well as “End of the Road” by Jim Jones. Did those make the list? You’ll have to see. We’re universally happy that the guys are back, and hopefully making that great music again.

Hieroman

Our beloved Music Director just might be The Hieroglyphics what Stan was to Eminem. Kidding, mostly. But this staff is frequently found draped up and dripped out in Hiero gear – shout out to the heads in the Philadelphia Apple Store that complimented the Lakers/Hiero collabo tee of one of our own. Anyway, the team that sells paintings, shirts, toys, studio experiences and a whole heap of dope music has a new line out. Our Bay Area friends wanted us to spread the word, and word is bond. Check out the wooden necklaces, toys and tees.

RapFix Looks At Lambo Lloyd

Lastly, big shouts out to MTV Rap Fix. Sway Calloway remains one of the godfathers of this Rap interview game, and Jayson, Rahman and Shaheem are constantly breaking new light on the best of the best in Rap. A lot of our friends, colleagues present and past and a whole host of dope writers are putting it down for RapFix. We encourage all to bookmark this topical site that has a lot to offer the Rap fan, thus the name. Today, RapFix put it down for Lloyd Banks, who is making one hell of a comeback this year.
