As Young Money Records closes out 2010 with Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday debut, the extensive label roster will segue towards more debut albums in 2011. One such hopeful is the imprint’s Oak Cliff, Texas rapper Lil Twist. The 17 year-old sunglasses-wearing artist made an impression on last year’s We Are Young Money, appearing on “Finale.”
As Twist readies his debut, Don’t Get It Twisted, the rapper recently confirmed some high-profile support from Pop artists Justin Bieber and Sean Kingston, as well as child rapper archetype Bow Wow, who is now a labelmate of Twist’s through Cash Money. Additionally, Twist told XXLMag.com in a UStream podcast that Young Money’s Drake, Nicki Minaj and founder Lil Wayne will also lend support.
At this time, no parent label/distributor or release date has been announced. Today, Lil Twist is expected to release mixtape The Takeover: Carte Blanche Edition.
