AXE Body Spray terminated their relationship with T.I. earlier in October, and Remy Martin will now do the same. RapRadar broke the news that the cognac company would be severing ties with Tip, after they were initially one of the first corporations to do business with the rapper following his 2009 prison stint. T.I. was named as Remy Martin’s Global Creative Consultant in June, and the split was announced via the following written statement:
“Sometimes the ‘road to redemption’ is a difficult path. Regrettably, we will not be able to continue collaborating with T.I. at this time. We wish T.I. well and hope he will devote his time and energy to staying the course.”
In addition to losing his sponsorships with AXE and Remy Martin, T.I. said being required to serve 11 more months in prison for violating his parole will change some things for his upcoming album.
“Well it ain’t King Uncaged no more; we had to change the title to No Mercy,” T.I. announced during an interview with Hot 107.9’s Ricky Smiley. “Believe it or not, I’m not that busy right now. I’ve got about one thing I’ve got to do. We’re just getting more videos in the can and preparing for this project to be out…awaiting and wrapping things up so we’re ready to deliver it to the world.”
No Mercy is scheduled for a December 7 release.

Well, I don’t like him either. But I doubt that the album will flop. With all this publicity he’s getting it shouldn’t be a problem for Atlantic to get their bread.
