According to the New York Post, Kareem Burke was arrested on Friday as part of a Federal drug investigation that spanned from New York down to South Florida. Burke was just one of 43 people who were arrested in the bust, a distribution network run by Geovanny “Manny” Rodriguez Perez.
Special agent Jim Hayes of Homeland Security Investigations for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, told the paper that “Manny” “controlled the marijuana market in NYC.” There is no word yet as to what Burke’s role was in the ring.
Kareem “Biggs” Burke was one of the three co-founders of Roc-A-Fella Records. While Jay-Z and later Dame Dash played the front, Biggs always remained in the background. After the trio sold their interests in the label to Def Jam, Burke remained with Dame Dash and started Roc4Life while Jay-Z presided over Def Jam.
