Late Tuesday afternoon, a federal judge issued a warrant for the arrest of Petey Pablo following his indictment by a grand jury for possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a stolen firearm and attempting to take the gun onto an airplane. All of the above charges are felonies, and TMZ reports that the Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol in question was stolen, which could carry additional punishment, if Petey Pablo is poven guilty.

The charges stem from Petey Pablo’s September 11 arrest, after the pistol and ammunition were found in the rapper’s carry-on luggage while he traveled through Raleigh-Durham airport. Petey Pablo maintains his innocence, and says he forgot he still had the weapon after confiscating it from a friend.

Petey Pablo was seen in public over the weekend of October 10, after J.Cole brought him onstage and the pair performed Petey Pablo’s hit single “Raise Up.” The rapper was free after posting $50,000 bail for the original airport arrest, but his representatives say he was unaware of the warrant.
