Gorillaz Bring Mos Def, De La Soul, Bobby Womack On Stage In Camden

    Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett’s animated outfit The Gorillaz finished their first leg of the United States tour this weekend. The Plastic Beach Tour finds the group with over two dozen ensemble musicians, with a host of special guests. Performing last night, October 10 at Camden, New Jersey’s Susquehanna Bank Center, the guests included Hip Hop acts such as Mos Def, De La Soul and The Pharcyde’s Bootie Brown. Additionally, Soul/R&B legend Bobby Womack appeared, singing a solo song as well.

    De La Soul performed on “Feel Good Inc.” and Plastic Beach‘s “Superfast Jellyfish.” Mos Def appeared on “Stylo” and “Sweepstakes.” Booty Brown appeared on “Dirty Harry.” The Gorillaz, which presently includes The Clash’s Mick Jones and Paul Simonon, also brought Bashy, Kano, The Lebanese National Orchestra For Oriental Arabic Music, The Hypnotic Brass Ensemble, and Little Dragon.

    1. Wow!!! There in Chicago next Saturday and if someone told me Mos Def and De La Soul are gonna be there I’d get tickets. But their probably not so idk.. $50 is a bit expensive. I like the Gorillaz but to see them Live? idk, I need someone on the mic.
