Interscope Records star M.I.A. is the latest artist to see Mr. West in the studio. The “Paper Planes” hit-maker tweeted late last week that she was, “Trynu shock you people one day at a time,” before announcing that she was amidst a studio session with Kanye.
With M.I.A. recently releasing her self-titled album in July, the recordings could likely be part of West’s Dark Twisted Fantasy, due this fall on Def Jam Records.
Kanye West sampled M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes” for 2008 T.I. hit “Swagger Like Us,” which also featured Jay-Z and T.I. However, this is the duo’s first known original collaboration.
