Vanilla Ice’s Reality Show Documents New Career

When most people think of Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, they think of “Ice Ice Baby.” While it has been difficult for Van Winkle to shed that image, he has been steadily working in a different world for over a decade and he now has a reality television series to showcase just how different his life is now.

Van Winkle has been renovating and selling homes and the new show, The Vanilla Ice Project, brought forth by the DIY Network, will document his new life. While it may be new to the public, it is nothing new to him.

“It’s funny, because it’s not a new career direction. I’ve been doing this for over 13 years,” he recently told The New York Times in an interview.

Ice’s new show will premier at 9 p.m. on the DIY Network October 14.

UPDATE: Cinema Blend reports that the former rapper’s The Vanilla Ice Project has been optioned for a second season. The show has become an asset to the DIY Network, according to channel executives.

    1. well…lets recap and name all the black vanilla ice’s that have slowly strangled hip hop this past decade shall we?

      Drake
      Kanye West
      Lil Wayne
      Kid Cudi
……..the list is fukin endless so seriously don’t “LOL” at this dude rather “LOL” @ these bubblegum ‘rappers’

    2. I’m not even gonna front, I was bumping To the Extreme for a minute back in the day.
I’m glad he’s making his money doing houses, dude had some bad luck over his career.

    3. Respect…I don’t think anyone of us over the age of 25 can say that they didn’t listen to Vanilla Ice at at least one point growing up.

      1. He hasn’t been smoking anything. Vanilla Ice is a one-hit-wonder who was disgraced out of his music career…yet he managed to take his earnings, invest it wisely, and earn himself a more than decent living. There’s something to be said for that.

Pretty sure Vanilla Ice makes more money than J-Kwon, Jibbs, Afroman, and other one-hit-wonders. Hell I bet he makes more money than a lot of current rappers.
