Those nostalgic for a Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth reunion can enjoy a deluxe edition of the group’s 1992 album, Mecca And The Soul Brother on September 14. The LP which spawned hits such as “The Reminisce Over You” and “Straighten It Out,” will be available with bonus versions, instrumentals, A capellas, and exclusives as well as a 20 page booklet with liner notes by Pete Rock, C.L., Dante Ross and Brian Coleman.
Another New York duo from Hip Hop’s “Golden Era” is also making moves, albeit separately for the time being. Rockness Monstah of Heltah Skeltah has released his Rockin’ Out West mix CD via the Duck Down online shop. The one-time DJ Lethal signee solidifies his West Coast connects with features from Kurupt, Ras Kass, Nate Dogg and others on his latest project, which is available in physical CD form only.
