Bay Area group Dem HoodStarz recently announced that they will be releasing their sophomore album Controversy next month. The duo’s self-titled debut released in 2005 with the Traxamillion-produced “Grown Man Remix” as one of it’s most successful tracks.

Five years later, the David Banner produced “Laughin'” will lead the album. “What we’ve been through, good and bad, has forced us to mature substantially,” said member Scoot. “We know that we have grown a great deal and fans will hear this in the subject matter and lyrics throughout this album.”

Gucci Mane, E-40, Messy Marv, Glasses Malone, and others also appear on the album.

“This is no regular street album,” member Band-Aide assured. “We really went into this project like a full-scale studio album. Real songs, real features, real music. Controversy is something fans will be listening to years from now as a part of their favorite collection.”
