Eminem’s Homecoming Featured Appearances From Dr. Dre, 50 Cent & Drake

Last night, Eminem kicked off his hometown component of he and Jay-Z’s Home & Home Tour. With stops in New York’s Yankee Stadium next week, the “Renegade” duo performed at Detroit’s Comerica Park last night. The hometown hero and pride of Eight Mile Road, Eminem gave 42,000 a 100-plus minute show, spanning through an estimated 33 songs, Billboard.com reported.

With Alchemist on the turntables and D12’s Mr. Porter assisting Em’s stage duties, the emcee and Shady Records head invited a number of esteemed guests to the stage. Em’s onetime pupil, 50 Cent, took the stage to assist on “Patiently Waiting,” while the G-Unit honcho and Lloyd Banks remained on stage to perform several of their hits, including “In Da Club.” Em also brought out Drake for their portions of 2009 power-collaboration, “Forever.” According to Billboard however, no guest got a bigger crowd reaction that Em’s mentor, Dr. Dre, who took the stage to perform 1992’s “Nuthin’ But A G Thang” and 1999’s “Still Dre.” Eminem provided vocals for both songs’ Snoop Dogg verses. Detroit’s Trick-Trick also made an appearance.

HipHopDX will be on hand for tonight’s Detroit show, but you can read a more in-depth account of last night’s show at Billboard.com.

Jay-Z’s set reportedly included longtime pupil Memphis Bleek, as well as an apperance from Young Jeezy. As a duo, both Jay-Z and Eminem performed their first collaboration, 2001’s “Renegade.”

      1. They didnt go to it & thats why they are so fucking mad. I went & the shit was off the hook. Even if youre not a fan of all the artist that showed up if you were in the stadium those one of those two nights you felt the vibe. IT WAS THE BEST HIP HOP SHOW in the last 10 years easy. Maybe 20 years

      2. shut yo stupid ass up “don’t care bout hip hop culture” it was POP stars not Hip Hop artists fuckin Drake D12 psssh please your outta ya fuckin mind talkin that bullshit like it was a fuckin KRS concert

    7. The show was quite brilliant! All the guests were full of energy, the live performances just pure genius. All these rappers in the same place, like Em, Fif`, Dre, Jay-z, Drake, Jeezy, Trick, D12, made history, like they said : history in a makin`. So for those who don`t respect that, those internet gang-bangin` ass dudes – 14-15 years old, who didn`t buy an original of those artits in their lives, who are downloadin` it and just hatin`, don`t desirve to criticise, they just gotta shut up and shit. 14 year-old bitch ass suckers.
