The legendary deejay and X-Ecutioners alum Rob Swift is preparing the release of a free EP Sketches of the Architect. The EP, which drops this Thursday, is a collection of songs that were recorded during the sessions for Swift’s most recent LP The Architect but ultimately did not make the cut.

Clocking in a six tracks, Sketches of the Architect was inspired by Swift’s immersion into classical music and also feature Breez Evahflowin. A short video preview of the EP can be seen below.

Finally, veteran Bay Area rapper Kenny Kingpin, a/k/a Poppa L.Q., is preparing to release his latest album titled Rubber Band Ready. The LP boasts the single “Let the Streets Tell It” and will hit shelves later this year through Never So Deep Records. Kenny says that he hopes his music inspires listeners and teaches them to avoid the same mistakes that landed him in jail for 26 months.

“Prior to prison, I took my freedom for granted,” he explained. “Since then, I identified all the potential ways to make at least a million that I overlooked. The messages I deliver to my people are the ones I needed to hear…no one knows everything, as long as you are living and breathing you gotta stay open to learning more about it all.”
