St. Louis Rap star Nelly announced today that he will temporarily serve as afternoon radio host for Missouri listeners. The St. Lunatics leader will be filling in for Staci Static on Hot 104.1 FM, who is presently on maternity leave. Nelly is expected to lend his celebrity to the radio station for approximately one month. Nelly’s radio career begins this afternoon, as his shift will be from 3-7pm CST.

Previous rappers working as radio hosts include Monie Love, MC Serch and Akinyele.

Presently, Nelly is at work for his next Derty/Universal Records release, 5.0. The album title takes its inspiration from the popular Ford Mustang GT of the late ’80s and early ’90s.

Earlier this week, the rapper was accused of withholding money from former members of the St. Lunatics.
