Even without a label deal, the Diplomats have wasted no time after reuniting by recording eight or nine new songs.
“It’s a few people that’s been getting at us, but the money’s not really where we want it to be,” explained Can’ron to MTV News. “So we’d rather distribute it ourselves until somebody comes with the right amount of money. Jim is using the ‘Salute’ record as his single, so we’ll build off of that. But basically, with the Diplomat thing, everybody is gonna do it, but we got obligations.”
Cam, who says the members are all on good terms with one another, said that the crew needed to complete their other projects, though they are still making time to record together. “Jim got his album he definitely gotta turn in,” he said. “[Me and Vado] got this Gunz and Butta thing. Juelz is putting his album together. Nobody wants to stop where they already have contracts and obligations, but we working too. We got eight, nine songs done.”
Cam downplayed any fanfare regarding the recording process, saying, “It wasn’t no big story behind it. [Jim Jones] sent me the record, I did it. He went to Juelz’s studio, I knocked it out. Jim comes by my crib where the studio at. We sit down for two, three hours, and we go in the basement and knock the songs out. I’m not gonna sit here and act like some spaceship landed or a boat docked. Jim comes by the house, we go in the basement, we smoke, do the song, that’s it. We go back in another two, three days and do the same thing.”
About time the diplomats are getting back together because they probably needed to show nyc some unity instead of hating each other come together and make money together and that salute records goes hard jim jones really snapped on that record and cam murdered it

Cam is on fire right now ever since he came back he’s been getting more and more on point. I haven’t heard too much from jones and a little from juelz but i think juelz fell the most off. If jones and juelz are smart they get this dipset album out 1st then do they thing it will bring them alot more hype. I was never too big of a dipset fan but I think dropping one now is good timing for a classic.
