Diddy Talks American Idol Rumors On Lopez Tonight

On an episode of Lopez Tonight that aired yesterday (July 28), Hip Hop entrepreneur/rapper Diddy spoke on possibly replacing former judge Simon Cowell on the talent competition American Idol.

Diddy explained that he initially wasn’t interested in the position, but once he heard how much Simon Cowell made while serving as a judge on the show his thoughts changed somewhat.

“At first when people were asking me if I was interested in the job I was like no…that’s not my style,” Diddy explained. “But once I heard what Simon makes…[I] would love the job. I’ve got six kids. If I would get the same check Simon gets…we would have a ball.”

A number of celebrities have been considered for Cowell’s position including Elton John, Shania Twain, Justin Timberlake, and more.

Various reports have suggested that former American Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe may return to the show this season and if he does he may possibly replace all the judges.

  Diddy’s been a big name (maybe bigger than Simon’s) with the entertainment world for over 15 years (love him or hate him)…why wouldn’t he get the same check amount (or more) as Simon? Nobody paid no attention to Simon till American Idol…Diddy will bring viewers, including your dumb ass.
