Pittsburgh artist Mac Miller has been signed to Rostrum Records. The 18-year old emcee previously released mixtapes The High Life and The Jukebox and will now share label homes with Pittsburgh peer Wiz Khalifa.

“We’re very excited to be working with Mac,” President of Rostrum Records, Benjy Grinberg said of the young rapper. “His talent, musicianship, and charisma are inspiring, and we’re looking forward to helping him reach new levels in his career.” Mac’s first label mixtape, K.I.D.S, will drop on Aug. 13, and his debut album is scheduled for an early 2011.

In other news, unsigned Illinois artist Skiddalz has been tapped by MTV for her song “OMG!” The track will be featured on Jersey Shore’s second season. It will not be the first time her music is featured on MTV. In 2008, her song “Go White Girl” was featured on the network’s dating show, “NEXT!”

“‘OMG!’ is a song I wrote about the feud between Skiddalz and her alter-ego Becky,” she explained. “Becky hates Skiddalz but privately, she wants to be her.”

Jersey Shore premieres on Jul. 29, and “OMG!” will be featured on the Aug. 5 episode.

Lastly, Beats & Rhymes music licensing company is inviting emcees to remix their own version of the Joell Ortiz track “Money Makes The World Go ‘Round.” In addition to looking for new artists, the company will also give aspiring artists a chance to win an original beat from producer VIC, who has worked with Nas, Big Pun, Kool G Rap, and others.
