In an interview with MTV News, Miami rapper Rick Ross spoke on “Free Mason” one of the most talked about tracks on his new album Teflon Don.
The rapper explained that with “Free Mason” featuring a guest appearance from Jay-Z all aspects of the song from lyrics to production had to be on point.
“If I’m on a record with Jay-Z not only are my rhymes gonna be on point, not only is the flow gonna be intact, but the way I say the words. The title of the record. The meaning of the record. Is the title big enough for the expectations of this collaboration,” Rick Ross explained.
As far as the title is concerned Ross revealed that he wanted people to be thrown off a bit.

“The title may throw them off and that’s a good thing. They gotta hear it and when they listen to it everything that’s been going through their mind should be answered and what better person to do that with than with Jay-Z,” Ross shared with MTV News. “So that was the whole idea when I brought it to him.”
Teflon Don was released on Tuesday, July 20. The album features guest appearances from Cee-Lo Green, T.I., Erykah Badu, Drake, Gucci Mane, and more.
