In a year that’s watched Little Brother take a bow, and Slum Village also claim a likely curtain call of their own with this month’s Villa Manifesto, a legendary Hip Hop duo has put aside their differences once more. Early this evening, Brooklyn Bodega, organizers for the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival told HipHopDX that Pete Rock & CL Smooth will take the stage together for the first time in over five years.

Saturday July 10, the duo that’s released two classic albums and an EP to boot will take the stage in Brooklyn. Stage times are still pending, but this reunion will serve as the first in six years, when the duo toured briefly and recorded two songs (“Appreciate” and “It’s A Love Thing”) for Pete Rock’s Soul Survivor IIalbum.

There has been no mention of new recordings, but Pete Rock is confirmed to produce the next Smif n’ Wessun album in its entirety.
