To commemorate their 15 years of humble independence and consistent existence, Duck Down Records will be releasing a compilation album aptly titled 15 Years of Duck Down Music on July 13. The 18-track album will feature a fan-favorite record from each year since 1995, as well as three bonus tracks.
Along with the album, a special Duck Down Records concert is planned for the same day with performances from a bulk of the labels line-up, including Heltah Skeltah, Smif N Wessun, Buckshot, Skyzoo, as well as Marco Polo and Torae. The concert will be at the B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in New York City. Advance tickets for the show are $22 and can be purchased here.
In other news, Oakland emcee Seasunz and Brooklyn-based producer J. Bless have combined their artistic abilities to shed light on environmental issues and green awareness within the states.
Their album, Earth Amplified, features guest spots from the likes of Killah Priest, Wes Restless and Zumbi of Zion I. Also making an appearance on Earth Amplified is stic.man of dead prez who co-signed the duos music by stating, “The whole album is nuts… that Fugees 2010 with hot lyrics…Fresh soulful organic vibe that is refreshing and inspiring. I salute the words, the flow, the music and the message.”
