Def Jam Records has confirmed that their Atlanta flagship music star, Ludacris, has struck gold, with his album Battle of the Sexes. This comes as Luda’s eighth consecutive album (six solo, one DTP release) to cross the 500,000 mark domestically, and is the second 2010 Rap album to do so, after Lil Wayne’s Rebirth.
Battle of the Sexes is the DTP front-man’s latest conceptual effort, looking at male/female relationships both in and out of music. The work features two gold singles in “How Low” and “My Chick Bad.” Guests include Nicki Minaj, Lil’ Kim and Monica. Initially, the album was developed to be a full collaborative album between Ludacris and former DTP artist Shawnna.
All seven Ludacris solo albums have been at least certified gold, and all have been released through Def Jam.
