G.O.O.D. Music star Kid Cudi found himself on the wrong side of the law yesterday afternoon. TMZ.com has reported that the rapper, born Scott Mescudi, was arrested after an altercation in New York.

The emcee allegedly seized and subsequently destroyed the mobile device of a 24 year-old woman. It is also claimed the police who responded to the scene discovered controlled substances of an unspecified amount belonging to the rapper. Further details are currently unknown. (September 21)

UPDATE:TMZ reports that on Friday, September 24, Kid Cudi pled guilty to criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. In addition to performing two days of community substance, Cudi must avoid further legal troubles. The rapper will have another scheduled hearing in March, during which he must furnish proof that he has not been on the wrong side of the law. (September 27)

UPDATE #2: New information has developed in the Kid Cudi arrest and trial. The Cleveland, Ohio native has reportedly been ordered by a judge to remain in good behavior and the September arrest may only result in a misdemeanor charge. It was also learned that Kid Cudi was not present in last Friday’s trial, and was given an adjournment.
