Kanye West Rewards Three Chicago Schools With Performance

After spending much of 2010 out of the limelight, recording his next album, Good *ss Job, Kanye West gave his first public performance of the year Tuesday night. West returned to Chicago for his 33rd birthday to promote his own foundation’s Stay In School event.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Farragut Career Academy and John Marshall Metropolitan and Percy L. Julian were the lucky recipients for a Kanye West show. The superstar performed his song “Power” publicly for the first time, as well as catalog favorites such as “Good Life,” “Touch The Sky” and more.

Held at Farragut’s campus, West was joined by G.O.O.D. Music artist Common, who was the event’s master of ceremonies.
