It seems Lupe Fiasco is taking some time out for himself before the release of his long-awaited album Lasers. On Tuesday, he announced via his website LupeFiasco.com that he will drive from Chicago to Los Angeles in what he calls the first annual “Run to the Sun.”
Although he is not making stops to perform, he said via frequent Twitter updates that he is making the trek “For the love and for the kids,” as well as homeless shelters, food pantries, and violence awareness. Lupe’s updates also included his music of choice on the road including Metallica’s St. Anger, Janelle Monae’s ArchAndroid, Nas and Damian Marley’s Distant Relatives, and of course, his own Lasers.
Lasers has not yet been given an official release date.
