While “Iron Man” managed to etch its position as one of the highest grossing blockbusters of 2008, the film’s sequel is expected to do just as well, if not better. “Iron Man 2” releases next month, and will include a few familiar faces including Marvel’s Stan Lee, Bill O’Reilly, and of course, new “Iron Man” franchise addition, Don Cheadle.
Although celebrity cameos are nothing new for summer blockbusters, one appearance in the film may incite bittersweet feelings. According to the LA Times, the late DJ A.M. will make a quick appearance in the film, in a scene that is reported to signify a key point in the plot. “We tried to make it respectful,” said Jon Favreau who struggled with the decision to keep the scene in the film. “And for people who know him, they’ll get a kick out of it and for people who don’t, it will sort of slide by without much notice.”
Not much has been revealed about the scene, however, DJ A.M. does play a music selector. The film opens on May 7.
In other news, two of the world’s most hailed producers, Just Blaze and Alchemist, have announced that they will team up for a 10-stop European tour next month. The jaunt, called the “Soundclash Tour” will begin on May 6 in the UK, and will end May 16 in Finland.
