While DJ Toomp had a relatively quiet 2009 compared to recent years, the Atlanta producer says 2010 is shaping up to be a big year in terms of collaborations.
Speaking with Vibe.com, Toomp stated he has worked on four tracks for Kanye West’s latest album Good Ass Job, which he estimates will be ready by early next year. “We’re putting [together] a masterpiece, it’s crazy. It’s going to be another classic… [Kanye’s] rapping, he’s going real hard,” he said.
While no details are set in stone, Toomp also revealed he’ll be working with Jay-Z in the near future for his twelfth studio album. “[Young] Guru reached out to me when I got to Hawaii. I’m ’bout to go back in with Jay real soon. After that [Blueprint 3 Tour], it’s almost like what else [is there for him] to do?”
Along with working on projects with veteran emcees, Toomp said he may also provide up-and-coming rapper Diggy Simmons with some beats for his debut album.
