South Central Los Angeles rapper Nipsey Hussle has announced a deal with BMI, one of the nation’s top performer’s rights organizations. The powerhouse represents over 400,000 songwriters, composers, and publishers in the music industry, and will now manage the rapper’s royalty compensation.
Nipsey is considered part of the new generation of west coast rappers, or the “New West,” that has emerged particularly from California. The Los Angeles newcomer has not yet released his debut, to be titled South Central State of Mind, but has been regarded as one of the most promising new artists.
Nipsey is still working on his debut and no definite release has been confirmed. The first single from the album is called “Feelin’ Myself” featuring Lloyd.
