To commemorate the twentieth anniversary of Public Enemy’s influential album Fear Of A Black Planet, founding member Chuck D and The Bomb Squad producers Hank and Keith Shocklee will take part in an all-day celebration event this Thursday in Iowa City, Iowa.
Along with attending classes throughout the day at the University of Iowa, the three legendary artists will also take questions in an interview with the colleges’ KRUI radio station at 12:30 p.m. The day’s festivities will come to a close with a panel discussion from 7-8:30 p.m. in downtown Iowa at the Englert Theater, which is free and open to the public. The panel event, entitled “Fear of a Black Planet, 20 Years Later,” will be moderated by co-curator Kembrew McLeod, who also co-produced the highly-acclaimed documentary Copyright Criminals.
