West coast Rap fans have heard Damani on Kurupt’s Space Boogie album as well as Soopafly’s Bangin West Coast album. The former Dubb Union member (with Bad Lucc and Soopafly) had already released the 2008 group album executive produced by Snoop Dogg. Today it was announced that Damani will further establish his solo brand by making On Vacation From Vacation, a free album featuring Snoop, Daz Dillinger, Pharrell Williams and more.
“I’m doing a free album because I’m an artist but also a consumer as well, and I want to prove myself first before I demand peoples money,” Damani told HipHopDX. “I’ve always been a solo artist, I started the Dubb Union group with Snoop as a side project to build monentum for each of the group members solo efforts, including my own.”
The Inglewood emcee’s first single from On Vacation From Vacation is the Snoop Dogg-assisted “Here Comes Damani.”
