J Records artist HipHopDX Underground Report alum Mike Posner performed Saturday night at Lexington, Kentucky’s Buster’s Billiards & Ballroom, a small venue near the state university’s college campus. The Kentucky Kernelreported that an eager crowd of over 1,000 outside the building prompted a riot leaving several minor injuries and police arriving.

The initial reports indicated that the mayhem started for the night’s headlining act, Mike Posner.

A concerned Posner contacted HipHopDX with the following statement, both thanking his fans, but critical of club security and overall handling. “It was extremely cold outside and I was doing everything in my power to get people inside. The venue simply wasn’t cooperating,” said Mike Sunday evening. “They called the police on the crowd so the people tore through the doors twice to get in. I’m proud of my fans for demanding what they deserved: a great show. After all the pandemonium, I’m extremely grateful that no one was hurt. I don’t do this for the money, I do this for the people that break down doors to party with me. I look forward to bringing the party to 42 dates on Warped Tour this summer.”

In related news, Posner was recently featured in Lifted Research Group’s spring campaign.
