Joell Ortiz To Release Star-Studded “Free Agent”

As the rest of Slaughterhouse has already released, or readies their next solo albums, Joell Ortiz unveiled his latest to the mix. The Brooklyn veteran will team up with E1 Entertainment again for Free Agent for a April 20 release. Originally announced, the release was due for March 23.

The album, Joell’s first since 2007’s The Brick (Bodega Chronicles), boasts production from DJ Premier, DJ Khalil, Sean C. & LV, Statik Selektah, MoSS, Lil Fame and others. Appearances come courtesy of Motown Records icon Smokey Robinson, as well as Rap peers Bun B, B.o.B., Talib Kweli, Brother Ali, The L.O.X., Raekwon and M.O.P. Ortiz’s Slaughterhouse brethren will also be featured.

Alan Grunblatt, General Manager of E1 Music, says, “Joell Ortiz is one the hottest new emcees to come out of New York. We had a lot of success with the first Joell release and are very excited he continues to be in the E1 family.”
