As if enough media and protesters didn’t surround him, R. Kelly is back in the news concerning more videotapes. Chicago police are said to be in possession of FOUR more videotapes sent to them by the Florida police department. The Florida police department is said to have recovered these tapes from a rental company that owns RV’s, and found the tapes in one of their rental vehicles. Although no new charges have been added to the twenty-one count indictment, Chicago Police are said to be reviewing the tape for possible sexual encounters with minors. R. Kelly’s lawyers have responded to the implication of what could possibly be a “ploy” as they call it to “prejudice the jury pool”.

Selection for a jury has not begun, and R. Kelly’s lawyers believe if misleading information reaches the public, fair jurors will be hard to come by. R. Kelly released his new song “Heaven, I need a Hug” to national radio last week, and fans have been pretty receptive to it. The song was originally scheduled to be released in November on what was to be his next album “Loveland”, but due to massive bootlegging, every song but that one has been scrapped. I hope this entire event has given those people in the entertainment business a reason to reevaluate the situations they willing get into.
